This spring, we will begin installation of an apiary in the Nature Preserve’s Pine Rockland.

An apiary is a collection of hives or colonies of bees. Over-development, habitat destruction, and diminishing plant diversity have all negatively impacted our native bee populations. Installing an apiary with one or more hives encourages bee populations to remain in the area. In turn, bees will perform pollination activities which fruits and vegetables require.
